Orange Essential Oil

Description

Our orange essential oil is derived from the bitter orange tree. With the Latin name of Citrus x aurantium subsp. Amara, this plant is also sometimes known as the Seville orange or marmalade orange. As the common names suggest, the fruits of the bitter orange tree have long been used to make marmalade. However, it is also the crucial ingredient in many liqueurs such as Grand Marnier. The slight bitterness of the fruit adds extra depth to its essential oil. The scent is often described as warm and sweet, but with invigorating undertones. Our orange essential oil comes from bitter orange trees grown in New Guinea. Here the sustainably grown fruit is passed through a gentle extraction process before the resultant essential oil is packaged into tinted glass bottles for shipment.
