Peppermint is well known for its cooling, refreshing properties. It has long been used in chewing gum and toothpaste for example, and is frequently used to clear the head as an inhalant due to its exceptional menthol content. The peppermint plant itself is considered to be a natural hybrid of water mint and spearmint. Given the Latin name Mentha arvensis, it is also sometimes known as field mint or wild mint. Growing to around 60cm in height, peppermint is grown worldwide due to its many beneficial properties. The plants that are used to produce our peppermint essential oil are grown in India.
